Following the success of our previous voice workshops in 2019, Nazama and Sam have teamed up again to explore the world of yoga and voice.
Voice is more than just words, it's a vibration we create when we speak. A vibration that needs the flow of air, relaxed muscles and a calm mind.
If you can speak, you have a voice and our voice is a channel of expression Each and every one of us has a totally unique voice, as unique as our finger prints.
Our voice mirrors who we are and our inner world. Unless you've had formal training, there's very little you may know about how we create sound and speak. This workshop aims to turn that around.
Our voice can become strained or weak through:
constant use, such as teaching, giving presentations,
through common illnesses such as coughs and colds
more intense medical treatment like chemotherapy
on-going neck tension
emotional and physical stress
Led by Nazama Tague, experienced yoga & mindfulness trainer and Sam Brady NHS speech & language therapist and founder of Speech Tools app, we will deliver a unique morning blend of yoga and voice, combining tradition and science.
Over the course of the morning, you'll explore using your voice mindfully, have fun, laughter and gain knowledge about how we create sound.
Stressed mind= body tension= voice tension
There are three areas that we'll cover to have a good voice (and none of them are about singing):
There will be a short break, were we offer light refreshments.
Who’s it for?*
Anyone who is curious about voice, live with voice tension or regularly use voice like teachers. No previous experience is necessary. You may also find it useful if you lack confidence using your voice or live with low self esteem.
Singers are welcomed, but this not a workshop about singing.
Booking your place
Advance booking is essential, as workshops often sellout. You need a yoga mat, blanket (which we can provide) and water. Chairs will be available.
